Its true. Will Hill of Los Alamos needs help! You can help by either getting his junior polo club a field permit in their New Mexican hometown, or buy, for $300, his 16 bamboo mallets he purchased to get the kids playing regularly. Several weeks ago the club van was stolen and looted, loosing several of the mallets and the goals in the process. Turns out mallets or not, the club would not be allowed to use any city park if it involved riding on grass. Sad story for sure. It was the 50’s that brought the cyclist the never ending saga of, “your bike will ruin the grass.” The American Dream and all that grass should be over by now, but it isnt. Interestingly, “hardcourt” polo grounds are also hard to find in Los Alamos, as there are no smooth pave to peruse. And in relation to that, Will also informed the crew that the Sante Fe grass polo fellers have disbanded and flat out stopped playing. Bad day for grass polo down there! If you want to help Will out call him at 505-661-9075. We tried but had nothin to offer, other than told him to play on dirt and invited him to come on up to our grass polo tournament this April.
